Nonmembers: ISHR Members receive a substantial registration discount ($125 discount for Regular Members, and $75 discount for Trainee members) that more than covers the annual dues for joining the ISHR-NAS (Annual dues: $110 Regular member, $55 Trainee member). Nonmembers can join the ISHR-NAS online (click here) prior to registering at the lower member rate!
Early-Bird discount: Register before April 1, 2017, and receive a $100 discount on your registration!
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received by the early registration deadline are refunded minus a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellation after the early registration period up to one month prior to the meeting are charged $150 cancellation fee. There is no refund for cancellations received after one month before the meeting.
ECI Travel Awards: Competitive Travel Awards of US$500 are available for young investigators (within 5 years of terminal degree) who are presenting an abstract at the meeting as a first author. Deadline for application is March 15, 2017.
Meeting Banquet: A Dinner Reception and Awards ceremony will be held at Club XLIV and Encore at Champions Square next to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome (1500 Sugar Bowl Drive, New Orleans, LA 70112) on Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 6:30-8:30 pm, followed by a social celebration until 11:30 pm. Buses to the dinner will board in front of the conference hotel (Hilton Riverside New Orleans) leaving at 6 pm. You must pay for the banquet ($40) during the registration process. Up to 2 Guests per registrant can attend the banquet at a cost of $85/guest. Ticket(s) will be included in your badge cover. Ticket(s) for you and your guest(s) are required to board the bus to the banquet venue.
Hotel: Reservations are available at the conference hotel at a special ISHR group rate. Delegates can make reservations at the conference hotel (Hilton New Orleans Riverside, 2 Poydras St, New Orleans, LA 70130) at the conference rate of $189 per night (double room, double occupancy) by clicking here. All rooms must be booked by April 30, 2017 to receive the discounted conference rate. Please contact hotel reservations (Phone: 504-561-0500 / 1-800-hiltons) for assistance with hotel reservations.
Abstract(s): An abstract fee of $50 will be charged for each abstract submitted. Click here to go to the abstract submission site (after clicking "Finish" to complete your submission, you will receive an invoice from the ISHR (via PayPal) requesting payment of the abstract fee; your abstract submission will be considered complete once payment has been received). Your abstract will be considered for oral presentation if you submit your abstract before March 15, 2017 and check the box on the abstract submission site indicating your interest. Abstracts not chosen for oral presentation and those submitted after March 15 will be presented at one of two poster sessions (Tues, May 30 or Wed, May 31). Formatting instructions and template (abstract MUST be uploaded in template provided; 300 word max) are available on the abstract submission site. Final abstract submission deadline: April 15, 2017.
Poster Presentations: Authors of abstracts chosen for poster presentation will receive an email message indicating which Session their poster will be displayed (either Session 1: Tuesday, May 30, 7:15-9:00 pm and Wednesday, May 31, 12:00-2:00 pm or Session 2: Wednesday, May 31, 5:30-7:00 pm and Thursday, June 1, 12:00-2:00 pm). Posters must be formatted to fit on the 4 ft x 8 ft boards provided. Posters should be put up at least 30 min prior to the Poster Session and taken down at the end of the Poster Session.
Young Investigator Competitions: will be held for Graduate Students & Early Postdocs and Senior Postdocs & Early Asst Professors - Deadline is March 15, 2017.
ECI Events: There are several events at the meeting organized by/for our Early Career Investigators (ECIs). Note that some of these events are for ECIs ONLY. Sign up for these events online during the registration process:
- ECI Scientific Symposium: Six abstracts submitted by ECIs will be chosen in a competitive process to be presented as oral talks in the ECI Symposium. Check the box on the abstract submission site if you are an ECI and would like your abstract considered for presentation in the ECI Symposium. All delegates are welcome to attend.
- Career Development Panel: Following the ECI Scientific Symposium, ECIs will split into two groups to participate in informal panel discussions of "How to choose a postdoc lab" (for graduate students; chaired by PIs and new postdocs) and "How to prepare for a faculty position" (for postdocs; chaired by department chairs and new faculty). All delegates are welcome to attend.
- ECI Lunch with Senior Investigators: (ECIs ONLY) A pre-selected group of senior investigators has been invited to share lunch and informal discussion in a round-table "speed-dating" format with ECIs (Drago's Seafood Restaurant; on-site at convention hotel; 12-2:00p, Tues, May 30, 2017). ECIs must sign up for this event during registration on the Attendee Selections tab (there is a $10 charge), and a ticket will be placed in your badge cover. Please bring the ticket with you for admission to the lunch.
- ECI Social: (ECIs ONLY) The ECIs will be meeting informally at Napoleon House (500 Chartres St (0.7 mi from convention hotel) for drinks and finger foods (7:30-9:30p, Wed, May 31, 2017). ECIs must sign up for this event during registration on the Attendee Selections tab (there is a $10 charge). Meet your fellow ECIs and network during a fun game of Pokemon Go! A ticket will be placed in your badge cover after your registration is processed. Please bring the ticket with you for admission to the social. Join us for a night of fun in New Orleans!!
